Course Overview

This qualification is for the sports person, coach, spectator or other involved adult. This single unit covers essential life-saving first aid and is the first unit of the 2-unit qualification.

QCA Recognition

This unit is to be found upon the National Database of Approved Qualifications (NDAQ), the Learning Aims Database (LAD) and may be eligible for Learning Skills Council (LSC) funding. This unit is suitable for the 16 – 18, 18+ and 19+ age groups. NQF unit code H/501/2760

Course Content

  1. Safe best practice
  2. A systematic approach to incident management
  3. Unconsciousness, causes and treatment
  4. External bleeding, internal bleeding and shock
  5. Resuscitation procedures including choking
  6. Awareness of current regulations

Our trainers are constantly updating their methods and materials keeping abreast of current best practice from around the world. Trainers typically have knowledge of your workplace and follow Health and Safety approved code of practice guidelines.

Revalidation

This qualification ‘license to practice’ is revalidated by attending another single unit First Aid for Sport – Emergency Action course in 3 years time.
