This qualification is aimed at those who require first aid training that covers more than that found on a typical one day course. It is the recommended course for climbing wall instructors, personal trainers, gym instructors, school minibus drivers, sports coaches, PE teachers, or any staff working on a site with young people involved in activities.
Classically HE colleges who can access funding for their first aid training courses take this option as the Activity First Aid course is listed on the Qualification Credit Framework.
This qualification is built from 2 mandatory units of assessment. One unit is normally taught per day, involving modular and progressive training.
– Unit 1 Emergency First Aid at Work (separate certificate may be issued to meet HSE regulations)
– Unit 2 Management of Illness & Injury in Activities
Passing both units leads to the ITC Level 2 Certificate in Activity First Aid (QCF code 501/2396/8)
This qualification is part of the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) regulated by OfQual (the official regulator of qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland).
