Emergency First Aid at Work
Course Overview
With modern mobile communication, modern emergency service response times and the changing face of UK employment from a manufacturing to a service economy, first aid needs have changed. If the risk assessment is that employees may be faced with minor incidents that will not require further medical assistance or life-threatening incidents with further medical help no more than 10 minutes away, then the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) is the course that meets the criteria. The EFAW will equip an employee with all the necessary skills and knowledge to manage incidents as described above. For heavy industry and more remote settings, the full 3 day FAW is recommended.
This qualification has been available to employers to meet their statutory obligations since October 1, 2009. No previous first aid experience is required to attend this course.
